I am Charlie Jones, I am a 15 year old secondary school student who has big dreams to make it in the world of sports. The Voice Behind the Gantry
I'm Charlie Jones, I'm a 15 year old aspiring journalist. Ever since I was a baby I've been in love with sports, more specifically football. It was my dad who first got me into football. Then, when I moved to America for a few years I was able to get into more sports like American Football and Basketball. At first I wanted to be a Pro-Footballer, but I few years ago I realised that the dream was dead. But I wanted to be involved in sports in some way whether than was coaching, Physical Therapy or even more unrealistic Manager. Then, My mum said to me I would make a great Sports Journalist since I'm able to just rattle off a crazy amount of Information of a Liverpool game that happened 4-5 years ago. For example, I can tell the highest scoring English defender in history; James Tavernier. Anyways, last year I expanded my sports catalog even more when I started watching F1 and Golf. I've played Golf since I was 7 but never really watched it. But with F1, I don't even know why I started watching it I think it was because I was flicking through the TV one day and came across the British Grand Prix. I remember it exactly. Wet to Dry race, Lando Had a great chance to win it but the team messed him up. George started on pole and then DNF leading to Lewis Hamilton winning his 9th home race the most in history, ever since then I have been in love.
Our Mission
The gantry is the place for me to share my knowledge without bugging my mum with random facts. I want to use to not only show my knowledge but to let other people share their knowledge with me and thats why my email is in the bottom of every page. I'm only one boy that has to go to school, play golf and revise so I can't have my eyes everywhere at once. But the main mission for now is to just straight up build connections.
The Birth of The Gantry
The Gantry was born in Grays, Essex in 2026. I spent over 2 weeks getting everything ready and when it was up to my standard I published it. I believe my first article was about the Red Bull situation after the China race where Max DNFed and Isack finished P8.
Driven by the desire to build a community where knowledge is shared freely rather than just consumed, I launched The Gantry to provide a voice for the people for a chance to be a journalist or help me build connections with other Journalists. From the pinnacle of Formula 1 to the high-stakes world of European football, the platform serves as a hub for fans who crave deep-dive information without the corporate filter, proving that you're never too young to start making your mark on the sports conversation.
