Yesterday, it was confirmed that Chelsea will be getting hit with a 1 year transfer ban and the biggest fine in Premier League history of £10.25 million. Now what could this mean for the club as they cannot improve the team which is so important because this team has obvious cracks such as in Goal and at the back. They also can not sign a single youth prospect for 9 months.
Why this is Happened
Let’s quickly breakdown why this happened. The reason for this ban was giving players secret payments from 2011-2018.
What could this mean for Chelsea
This ban goes completely against Chelsea's transfer strategy over the last few years, Buy over bring in youth prospects. However this cannot be the case anymore. We could see a few players from the acedemy come through next season especially due to the GK situation they have right now. For the CB role we could see players like Josh Acheampong get more minutes if the issues continue.
If Chelsea don’t get Champions League then we could see loads of first players going out on loan or be sold due to the fact that they might not meet PSR rules.
They could also struggle with wages due to the fine of £10.25 million most of that will probaly come from the club itself and not the owner due to the fact that he no involvement in this situation.
We could start to see Chelsea's performance take a massive dip next season. This could result in the sacking of manager Liam Rosiener.
