The Roundup of the Miami Sprint Qualifing

This was by a margin my favourite qualifying of the year so far. There is so much to expand upon from the title fight opening up to 3 teams, Mercedes looking slow, Carlos being extremely angry over the radio, The Honda engines looks much more reliable but the car is still slow (will be expanded upon after the weekend) and of course Lando Norris taking pole so without any more waffling lets get into it.

The door has swung open in this title fight

After McLaren completely dominated almost every part of qualifing they were able to cap it off with a pole by Lando Norris and 3rd place by Oscar Piastri. But now McLaren are in prime position to close this gap that Ferrari and Mercedes have and maybe even get the 3 peat in the constructors that has been a long time in the making. We could also see a dark horse that no one has mentioned at all or maybe even 2, Red Bull and Alpine. Max looked so quick today; espically in practice and he was able to cap Quali off with P5. Hadjar came home in 9th but isn’t much too right home about there. However there is something to right home about and that is Alpine. My biggest critism of Alpine was Franco Colapinto and guess what he just proved me completely wrong. P8 and out qualified Gasly who was in P10. I am so excited to see hat he can do tomorrow since he ill be hanging on for dear life as he is that final point scoring position with his faster team mate and Isack Hadjar starting behind him.

Russell looking slow

Words cannot describe how confused I am on why he was so bad today. 6 tenths!? We never thought the Mercedes would be so slow at all this season but there we go. It seems like Mercedes dominance ended faster tha it actually started. I love both Mercedes drivers and their driving styles but that terrible by Russell. I don’t he came on my IPad once during that session and that just shows you how bad he was. Maybe it was just a one off but we will have to wait and see cause I have no clue what will happen during tomorrows Sprint or Qualifing. Going back to that Medes dominance point, I had th feeling that this would happen after the long break and Ferrari and McLaren Bringing a bag of upgrades but as I said before this title fight will be so intresting now.

Carlos Sainz is not happy at all

After another horrible qualifing where both drivers were elimated in Q2. He came over radio saying, “We are 3 steps behind where we should be, every lap” “And I’m not happy with this. It can not be that, after 1 hour and a half of practice and we are still in this state.” As you clearly tell he is angry about how far Williams are behind as he was promised 2026 would be the year where they would start competing and we have reached 2026 and they are still over weight somehow. As I said in my predictions article, “The Spainiard is probably not very happy with Williams at the minute since they screwed him over the first half of last season and they have done it again.” So if they can’t this by Canada he’s gone next year.

The Liam Lawson confusion

After being Elimated in Q1, Liam Lawson left the garage t go to the media pen but then I believe it was Ted Kravitz came on commentary saying Liam just ran back into the garage like he was going out. Next thing you know he is in the car with his crash helmet on. Everyone thought Lindblad or Bearman were under investigation for track limits since neither of had left the garage but it was neither of them and they were both waiting until the last few minutes to go out for reason, It didn’t lead to anything but it was a puzzling and strange situation that went on there. It was Albon being investigated but the stewards just ended up leaving it until the end.
